The manufacturers has been producing the products which companies wished to sale from the company side. This philosophy is called as “Product-out” company strategy. Nowadays; more important company strategy is “Market-in” philosophy which means that the manufacturer should produce a product which the customers want to buy; because they have a lot of goods at home and they want to seek the products with which they can be satisfied in mind.
Kansei Engineering was founded by Mitsuo Nagamachi about 35 years ago (Nagamachi;1989; 1995; 2002; 2005). At that time he aimed to transfer the customer’s wants and need to product design and then he created the method of a customer-oriented product development. Kanse implies psychological feeling in Japanese and Kansei Engineering is defined as translating ergonomic technology of a customer’s kansei into design specification of an up-coming product.
Nagamachi and his group has been developing a lot of new products using the kansei engineering so far; for instance; refrigerator; sports car; brassiere; cosmetics; construction machine; shaver; bathtub; toilet; kitchen; handrail for the elderly; golf club; etc. so many new products in the different design area.
We decided to introduce the kansei engineering and to develop a new cockpit flower carpet in terms of the kansei engineering.
